Universal Postpones Jurassic Park 4

Quit playing games with my heart, Universal. Universal has decided to postpone the release of Jurassic Park 4. Before fans panic about the future of the fourth installment of the hit franchise, let's look at what we know. Universal has released a statement saying how excited they are for the project. That doesn't look like they want to cancel it. It simply seems that the original release date of June 13th, 2014 wouldn't give the filmmakers enough time to produce the best movie possible. I'm going to tell myself that maybe they're hoping the delay will work with the schedules of the original cast.

In other Jurassic Park news, Variety is reporting that Bryce Dallas Howard and David Oyelowo were the front runners to star in the film. Personally, this is the bit of news that worries me more than the delay. Each movie has had at least one of the original stars in the cast and I don't know how fans will react to an entirely new cast. Surely, they could fit the original cast members, or at least some of them, into the script in some capacity. Even if they can't run around a jungle anymore. Sam Neill is hanging out in a vineyard and I don't think Joe Mazzello is busy. Just saying.

Isla Nublar Confirmed for 'Jurassic Park 4'

Huge Jurassic Park 4 news! No, it's not the amazing casting news we're all waiting for but it's still pretty cool. Director Colin Trevorrow just tweeted a picture of the infamous dinosaur inhabited island Isla Nublar. That's right. A confirmation that we will be returning to Isla Nublar for the fourth Jurassic Park installment. This is so exciting and way better than a TREX roaming San Diego. Now all we need is a confirmation that our favorite cast members will indeed return to star in the flick.

Pretty please?

Jeff Goldblum on Conan - Video

There are so many things that are just right about Jeff Goldblum's appearance on Conan last night. From the duo establishing an attraction between them with Jeff flirting with Conan and admiring his abs, Jeff stroking Conan's chin while purring to deduce his shaving technique, to Jeff choking on a cough drop. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's fine but the fallout is hilarious. After watching these videos, I still don't know quite what Jeff was promoting or if he was asked at all about Jurassic Park 3D or Jurassic Park 4 but I'm enjoying these videos so much that I don't even care. Going to a 3D showing with him sounds like the best time ever. I'm not sure what I would do if he ever stroked my face and purred.

'Jurassic Park 4' Will Start Filming in July

Hold on to your butts. Jurassic Park 4 is not only finally happening, but we have an update on when filming will begin! It is being reported that filming on the fourth installment of the hit movie series will begin this July and will take place in Kauai, Hawaii, and Baton Rouge.

I can't believe this is finally happening. News of the cast should surely start leaking out any time now right? That almost makes me nervous. We've been waiting over 10 years for news on the next movie that I'm almost scared about how it's going to be. More importantly, all I would love is the return of Sam Neill, Laura Dern (Ellie gets divorced), and Jeff Goldblum. Now, I understand they may be older and not able to run through the jungle anymore but that's why it would be awesome to see Tim (Joe Mazzello) return to do the leg work.

Are you excited by this update? What would you like to see happen in the fourth movie? Who would you like to see return?

Review: Jurassic Park 3D

I love Jurassic Park. So much. I spent my day yesterday at the first screening of Jurassic Park 3D that I could find in an IMAX theater. I've only seen one other IMAX movie in my life and it wasn't that great. In fact, my overall opinion of all these 3D movies are that they're unnecessary and a waste of money for a lackluster 3D experience. That being said, Jurassic Park is my favorite movie so I knew I had to go big and give it a chance.

Hold on to your butts.

The 3D version of the blockbuster film BLEW ME AWAY. It was incredible. It was everything I imagined it could be and more. It was 100% worth the money this time around and seeing it in IMAX only made it that much more amazing. If you've got an IMAX theater near you, I highly recommend it. The conversion to 3D is so much better than any 3D movie I've ever seen before. I noticed and enjoyed things about the movie I never have before and I've seen it about 100 times. I didn't think a movie that was already perfect could get any better but they proved me wrong.

Sam Neill and Laura Dern on the Today show - Video

Welcome back to Jurassic Park! Sam Neill and Laura Dern appeared on the Today show this morning to celebrate and promote their iconic movie together: Jurassic Park. The film is being re-released in 3D to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the movie. Fans can see the awe-inspiring and jaw dropping 3D version of the film in theaters starting this Friday, April 5th.

I am SO excited for this. I plan to see it at least 3 times in both IMAX and regular 3D. I only wish Matt Lauer had asked the duo if there is any chance they might appear in the upcoming fourth Jurassic Park movie.

Check out the video of their appearance on Today here:

Jurassic Park 3D - Movie Trailers

We are less than a few weeks away from celebrating the 20th anniversary of Jurassic Park in a big way. The re-release of the original movie hits theaters everywhere on April 5th, 2013 in 3D and IMAX. I already have my JP inspired shirts picked out and money set aside to see this at least 5 times. I saw the trailer on TV last night for the first time since I was a kid and it was an incredible feeling. Nostalgia, emotion, and a whole lot of excitement.

So hold on to your butts and be sure to grab your ticket to relive this classic before the limited run is up!

Colin Trevorrow To Direct Jurassic Park 4

HUGE news Jurassic Park fans! Not only is the fourth movie actually and finally happening, but Universal has finally selected a director. Fans may have hoped that Steven Spielberg would be on board at some point but he won't be directing this time around. While we will get him as an executive producer, newcomer Colin Trevorrow will be taking on the task. He previously directed the indie hit Safety Not Guaranteed. This is a huge development. The script has already been completed and shooting is set to allegedly begin this Summer with the hopes for a Summer 2014 release. As in next year! If that's not enough excitement for you, don't forget that you'll be able to catch the first Jurassic Park movie when it's re-released in 3D starting April 5th.

I can't wait to go see it at least 10 times.

Jurassic Park 4 News

Jurassic Park fans: Hold on to your butts. The biggest development update on the fourth installment in the hit franchise has been revealed. Steven Spielberg's producer, Frank Marshall, revealed that the movie should be on screens within two years, with the hopes that it will be a Summer blockbuster.

It has been long speculated whether the fourth movie would be an actual sequel or a reboot but Marshall confirmed that it will definitely be a sequel. In other fantastic news, there's still hope that the movie won't abandon its use of using Dinosaur puppets/robots instead of CGI.

I can't tell you how happy this makes me or how long I've been waiting to hear this. The only update that could make this better is if Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum and others from the old gang would confirm their appearance in the movie. Even seeing a grown up Timmy would be amazing.

Jurassic Park 4 Is Finally Happening

The best news to come out of Comic-Con 2011 is Steve Spielberg's announcement that Jurassic Park 4 is FINALLY being made. A story is being written and Steven foresees the movie coming to in 2-3 years. There are no words to express my excitement.
"We have a story," Spielberg told 6,000-plus fans in the San Diego Convention Center. "We have a writer who is writing the treatment and hopefully we are going to make Jurassic park 4 in all of our foreseeable futures, hopefully in the next two or three years."
Ahh! Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum please please please clear your schedules for this. We do not want a reboot. We want our favorites.
