Pop City Life Exclusive: Interview with Life After Liftoff

If you're not familiar with Life After Liftoff, you should be. The band recently teamed up with Defeat The Label to help stop bullying in school. Along with Cody Simpson and Glee's Lauren Potter, they hope to make a difference through music.

We had the chance to interview Life After Liftoff lead singer Lee Weiss about how the group came together and why they decided to throw their support behind such a great cause.

Hot Band Alert: We Are The In Crowd

Last month, we were given free tickets to check out We Are The In Crowd while they were in New York City on their co-headlining tour with Every Avenue. We went in knowing very little about the band and came away huge fans. We Are The In Crowd are a pop punk band fronted by Taylor Jardine and Jordan Eckes. Since there's both male and female lead vocals, there's a unique dynamic that the band brings to the music scene.  Their music is fun and catchy, all while taking on themes such as breakups and new love.  Our personal favorite song of theirs is "Both Sides of The Story". They recently released the music video for their song "Kiss Me Again" featuring All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth. This song is all about that feeling when you know you're falling for someone and you really hope that person feels the same way back. "Kiss Me Again" is off their latest album "Best Intentions". Hot Band Alert: The Good Mad

Have you heard The Good Mad? Well, you need to. The Good Mad are a refreshing twist on Folksy-Country music. They themselves describe their sound as "folk/americana to disco or indie or something."  It's hard to put them in a box but, some of the best music around can't be defined. Fans may recognize the band from their recent appearances on ABC Family's The Lying Game. Band member Allie Gonino can also be seen as a regular on the show. Their latest songs Stepping Stone, Follow Your Heart, and What Money Paid for aren't to be missed. So check them out below! Let us know what you think.

Hot Band Alert: One Direction

Like the rest of the world, we've been obsessing over One Direction! What's not to love about sharp dressed British cuties that sing incredibly catchy songs?! They got their start on season 7 of the UK's X-Factor and have been teen sensations ever since. Their first single "What Makes You Beautiful" immediately became a hit and one that we still can't take off repeat! Yes we're officially hooked! You can catch them on the road this February and March when they open for Big Time Rush on the 'Better With U' tour.  Recently, the guys released the music video to their song "One Thing" which shows them being all sorts of adorable while traveling around England and hanging out with the fans. Since we can't get this song out of our heads, we're making One Direction our hot band alert for the week! Check out the "One Thing" music video below:

New Music Alert: Alexz Johnson - Skipping Stone - Video

We've missed Alexz Johnson. I have always absolutely adored her voice and I've been a fan since I was about 12. That either makes me very old or very weird. In my opinion, she has one of the best female voices around and her music should be shared with everyone. It's my pleasure to share her latest music video with you all. Skipping Stone is her latest single and one of her best. I've personally had it on a loop all day. It's a beautiful, haunting ballad and I think you'll really enjoy it. Hot Band Alert: Action Item

One of our favorite things about summer is attending as many concerts as possible so we can find new bands to obsess over! That was definitely the case this summer. We first heard about Action Item last month when we saw them open for We The Kings on the Friday is Forever tour. It's safe to say we've been hooked ever since! Not only are these guys super talented, but they're also extremely kind and gracious guys (yes, we met them and they were lovely!). Their songs are fun and catchy, making them our hot band alert for this week. Our personal favorite song of theirs is "When Everything Falls Back Down" which features Disney star Chelsea Kane. It has a great message of supporting those we love in following their dreams, through both the good and bad times.

Another song we're loving is their single "Learn To Fly" which was actually produced by Nick Jonas! Make sure to watch the video for it below:
