Hot Musician Alert: Dana Williams

New music alert! Dana Williams is an up and coming singer and songwriter from the Los Angeles area. Sister to actress Davida Williams and daughter of the great David Williams, who is perhaps most known for his 30 years working alongside Michael Jackson, Dana's voice and music is fresh and soothing. Her voice is beautiful with a vintage quality to it. I get a bit of Norah Jones vibes when I listen to her.

Fresh off of finishing the Leighton Meester Check in the Dark Spring Tour in 2012, she has just released her new music video for her single "Keep Me Waiting."

Neil Jackson is pretty amazing already right? Among other things, fans of the actor will recognize him from his dreamy accent or his roles on Make It Or Break It and Upstairs Downstairs. He's fantastic in both. But did you know he's also a talented musician? Set for release on February 4th, 2013, Neil has been busy working away on his upcoming album The Little Things. Holding a Candle, the first single off of the album, is now available on Itunes. Even better than that, there's now a music video to go with it.

Hot Musician Alert: Megan & Liz

One song that we've been hooked on lately is "Bad For Me" by Megan & Liz. These sisters have been one of our favorite YouTube artists for years, so it's great to see them finally getting the recognition they so greatly deserve. Recently they won iHeartRadio's rising star contest, making them one of the performers at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas next month. "Bad For Me" is even being played on Z100 aka the biggest radio station in the country. That's when you know you've made it. If their single still doesn't ring a bell, you've probably heard it featured on Macy's latest commercial. We saw them back on tour with Action Item last year, and they had such a great stage presence. These girls are not only talented, but complete sweethearts as well, making them our hot musician alert this week. Check out Megan & Liz's music video for "Bad For Me" below:

Hot Musician Alert: Olly Murs

Bringing us musicians like One Direction, Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, and Cher Lloyd, The X Factor has consistently produced some of today's hottest stars. Now there's a new artist to add to that list, Mr. Olly Murs. Many of you probably know him from when he placed second on the sixth season of The X Factor back in 2009. Since then, he's released two albums over in the U.K. His latest CD, In Case You Didn't Know, came in at number one on the charts back in November.

Now, he's ready to take over America. He's currently touring with One Direction as their opening act on their North American summer tour. On September 25, he'll re-release his album In Case You Didn't Know, this time in the U.S. The album will differ slightly from the U.K. version thanks to its unique track listing and album covers. The U.S. version will also include some songs from Murs' 2010 debut album. This however, will be his first U.S. album. Like many former X Factor contestants, Murs is signed to Syco Music.

His first single off the new album is "Heart Skips a Beat", featuring Chiddy Bang. While we love this song, our favorite number of his is "Dance With Me Tonight", which you can also find on the CD In Case You Didn't Know. It's got such a fun beat that you can't help but smile when you listen to it. There's also this incredible big band, swing feel to it which is just so rare in the music scene nowadays. Hot Musician Alert: Cher Lloyd

If there's one song we can't get out of our heads this summer, then it's Cher Lloyd's "Want U Back". Does this really come as a surprise though? 2012 is not even half over and it's already been the year of the British. You can't turn on the radio without hearing one of England's best singing a ridiculously catchy song and Lloyd is no exception. Many might recall her from her time as a finalist on The X Factor back in 2010. She finished in fourth place right behind a band called One Direction. I don't know, maybe you've heard of them? Since then, she signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music, which is a subsidiary of Sony Music. She's also released a few singles like "Swagger Jagger" and "With Ur Love". Now, she's hitting up the US with the radio friendly "Want U Back". To us, this latest single has a Miley Cyrus vibe. The song's catchy and fun, making "Want U Back" the perfect song for the summer and Cher Lloyd our hot musician alert this week. Watch her music video for "Want U Back" below:

Hot Musician Alert: Shane Harper

There's nothing we love more than discovering new music.  That's why when we stumbled across Shane Harper's self-titled debut album last night, we knew we had to share his music with all of you. Earlier this year, Shane opened for Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance on the "Waiting 4U" tour, as well as for Miranda Cosgrove on her "Dancing Crazy" tour. Harper's album, which he released this past April, is a mix of feel good songs that we can't stop jamming out to. Our favorites off the record have to be the super catchy "Rocketship" and "Jump". Not only is Shane an accomplished musician, but he plays the role of Spencer Walsh on the Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie. In August, he posted a video to his YouTube account singing Selena Gomez's hit "Love You Like a Love Song" which you all need to check out. He completely rearranges the song in a way that we love!
