Kelly Clarkson Cancels Wedding to Brandon Blackstock

As many know already, Kelly Clarkson was set to marry her fiance Brandon Blackstock in October. Well now it looks like the wedding is off...kinda. The two had originally planned an extravagant wedding filled with all their celebrity family and friends. So why the sudden cancellation of the nuptials? Well Clarkson explained yesterday that due to their busy schedules, the happy couple decided they would rather elope. She later went on to say that things "got crazy" and "all the details were leaking" after they sent out a save-the-date to their guests. Then with her Christmas album coming out in October, there just isn't enough time to put together a huge wedding. The "People Like Us" singer also said that their "whole life is a celebration," so they decided to have a small wedding so they could "have an intimate moment that's special." The two eventually sent out a letter to their guests thanking them but explaining that now "it's just going to be [her] and Brandon, his two kids and the minister." This doesn't surprise us at all. Clarkson has always been so down to Earth. Good for them.

Kelly Clarkson is one of those artists who can do no wrong. Besides having a powerhouse voice, she is one of the most likeable musicians in the industry today. She's the kind of person guys want to date and girls want as their best friend. It's no surprise that everything she touches turns to gold. Clarkson's new single "People Like Us" is already a huge success. Yesterday, she released the music video for it. Do you love it as much as we do.  Make sure to check it out below:

Jennifer Hudson To Judge American Idol

This morning, E! News is reporting that Jennifer Hudson has signed on to judge season 13 of American Idol. She's set to be part of an all-alum panel. While Hudson wasn't my favorite contestant, it will be great to see what she can add to the show. Plus, she's definitely one of the more high profile artists to ever come from American Idol. After coming in seventh place, Hudson went on to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in Dreamgirls and a role in NBC's Smash. That's not all, she's also had commercial success as a singer. Any advice and critique Hudson can give the aspiring singers will obviously be greatly appreciated. Other former Idols considered for this all-alum panel are Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, and Adam Lambert. Can we replace Aiken and Lambert with Carrie Underwood? Either way, hopefully the idea of bringing back former contestants to judge can boost the ratings up to what they once were.

American Idol: Former Contestants as Judges?

According to a new report from Vulture, FOX is considering a new twist on the judges for American Idol next year. In a bid to boost dwindling ratings, serious consideration is being given to the possibility of having former contestants on the judges panel. Their sources say Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson have already been approached and Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are also being considered.

I think this is a great idea. This show has gotten incredibly stale since the judges table has become a revolving door of overpaid celebrities who just want to boost or promote their careers. The meddling of the producers who seemed frantic this year to manipulate the results has become increasingly apparent and this could be the breath of fresh air we're looking for. If the show can get back to its roots and become genuine again, I might actually start watching again.

If I can't have Harry Connick Jr. (who seemed frustrated with the show's b.s.) I would love a panel of contestants. I might prefer to see Jordin Sparks instead of Hudson, who seems to be everywhere on my TV lately. If she's not warbling at me about Weight Watchers, she's taking over Smash. David Archuleta probably wouldn't be considered because he's just too nice. While his criticism wouldn't exactly be constructive, it would be hilarious to watch him attempt to be critical of someone with his smile and laugh. How would he have reacted to William Hung or any of the awful auditions? Think of the look on his face! Cutie pie.

Honda Civic Tour Dates

Beginning in August, you can catch what is bound to be the hottest tour of the summer. Maroon 5 is the headliner of this year's Honda Civic tour. It will be the band's second time holding this honor, with their first being back in 2005. Kelly Clarkson is set to be their special guest on all dates of the tour. Rozzi Crane, Tony Lucca, and PJ Morton will open for the pop stars at select shows. The Honda Civic tour will kick off in St. Louis on August 1st and wrap up in San Diego on October 5th. Kelly Clarkson is all set to release her album Greatest Hits - Chapter One! Along with a brand new single, Catch My Breath, Kelly has compiled her favorite hits for the album. Everything from Miss Independent to Since U Been Gone. Fans can pick up the album November 19th!

Kelly Clarkson has a new song out and we are loving it! Catch My Breath shows off her great vocals and she sounds beautiful on it. The song was co-written by Kelly and her musical director Jason Halbert. Kelly debuted the song this morning with Ryan Seacrest and it will be one of three new songs off her Greatest Hits album due out November 19th.

2012 American Music Awards Nominations

The nominations for the 2012 American Music Awards were announced today and it looks like it'll be a tough competition! Rihanna and Nicki Minaj lead the nominations and are up against boybands like One Direction and the hit song of the summer from Carly Rae Jepsen. PopCityLife favorite Kelly Clarkson will be up against Katy Perry for Favorite Female Artist of the year.

Who will you be rooting for? Online voting begins Tuesday with the show airing live on November 18th at 8pm.
