Kris Allen and Wife Welcome Baby Boy


Congratulations Kris and Katy Allen. The American Idol winner and his wife welcomed their baby boy into the world today. After keeping fans on the edge of their seats for weeks, Allen's rep confirmed exclusively to US Weekly that "Little Oliver Neil Allen" was born earlier today. The couple, who married in 2008, revealed back in January that they were expecting their first child. We're so happy for these two. Read what else Allen's rep had to say about baby Oliver below:

On June 2nd, we had the privilege of attending Give an Hour's A Celebration of Service VIP Reception and Benefit Concert at B.B. King Blues Club in New York City. The organization threw together an exquisite night that included great food, drinks and of course performances from a bunch of talented artists. The event focused on honoring our military men and women and those who serve them.

Kris Allen and Family Injured in Car Accident

Oh no! Yesterday the Twitter world exploded when news broke out that American Idol season eight winner Kris Allen, along with his wife Katy and dog Zorro, were in a head on car collision. Thankfully, they all came away from the accident bruised but safe. According to Allen's tweets, while he did suffer a broken wrist in the process, his Out Alive tour beginning next week will go on as scheduled. What a trooper. With the bad news, came good news as well. The Allens are expecting their first child! Congrats!

Concert Alert: Kris Allen Scheduled To Perform Two Shows at Joe's Pub Next Weekend

If you live in the New York City area, you won't want to miss Kris Allen when he performs at Joe's Pub next weekend. On October 27th, Allen will be playing two shows at one of our favorite venues located in the East Village. The first show is scheduled for 7:30 pm, with the second one following it at 9:30. He'll be singing songs off his latest album Thank You Camellia, as well as hits from his debut self-titled album. Regular tickets are only $20, while premium tickets cost $70. However, a premium ticket does include a meet and greet pass during soundcheck. Allen is one of those artists who literally never ever disappoints. We can't stress enough how incredibly talented he is, so if you haven't already go go GO buy your tickets here to see him perform on October 27th. We guarantee you won't be sorry. Kris Allen Performs Monster For Yahoo Music


Recently, Kris Allen stopped by Yahoo Music to perform the song "Monster" off his latest album Thank You Camellia. Allen brought along bandmates Cale Mills and Chris Torres for the acoustic performance. We love these kind of performances because it really lets Allen's voice shine. Kris Allen Performs "Better With You" For Yahoo! Music


One of our favorite songs off of Kris Allen's sophomore album Thank You Camellia  is the ever so catchy "Better With You". Luckily for us, when Allen stopped by Yahoo! Music recently, he performed the number. With the help of band members Cale Mills and Chris Torres, Allen performed an acoustic version of "Better With You". Kris Allen - Lights


Last month, Kris Allen participated in a Stageit concert for his fans. Basically this is an interactive concert where fans pay to watch their favorite performers from the comforts of their homes ala their laptops. During this performance, Allen broke out a new cover he'd been working on. I think this is one of my favorite things about the former American Idol winner. He has this amazing ability to reinvent songs like no one else can. This is especially true for the songs he covers by female artists. In the past, he's sung Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and even Rihanna hits, with each rendition more flawless than the last. This time around he took on Ellie Goulding's "Lights". Allen sounds incredible and the song itself sounds better than it ever has. Oh Kris Allen, you are definitely the most underrated singer in the business today. Don't believe us? Kris Allen Debuts "You Got a Way"


Last night Kris Allen paired up with his old tourmates Lifehouse to perform a show at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI. Kris opened for the band last fall on their Smoke and Mirrors tour. He took on that role again for the concert last night. There, he performed a new song called "You Got a Way" for the crowd! Kris Allen to Perform in NYC, Philly and DC


If you're an elementary or high school student, you can attend the Music Empowers Event in New York City, Monday May 2nd, in Philadelphia on May 3rd, or in DC on May 4th. The performances are being held in hope of raising awareness for the need for music education in schools. Kris will perform songs from his self-titled debut album, as well as some numbers with the Berklee City Music All-Star Band.

Kris Allen Hangs With Matt Morrison

Last week we reported that Kris co-wrote the song "Still Got Tonight" on Glee star Matt Morrison's debut album out May 10th. Today, Kris tweeted a picture of the two hanging out on the Glee set. We're loving this collaboration since these two guys are favorites of ours here at Pop City Life. Check out the picture of Morrison and Allen below:

American Idol Season 8 Winner Kris Allen announced on Twitter today that he co-wrote the song "Still Got Tonight" on Matthew Morrison's debut album. Songwriters Andrew Frampton and Stephen Alan Kipner co-wrote it with Allen as well. The album hits store May 10th. Make sure to pick up a copy. You can preorder it here:
