David Freese Returns to the Cardinals For Their Home Opener + Derek Jeter Hopes To Return To Yankees By May

On Monday, the Cardinals returned to St. Louis for their home opener game vs. the Cincinnati Reds. The best part about this was that third baseman David Freese was finally able to rejoin his team after being on the 15-day disabled list.  During spring training, Freese sprained his lower back trying to catch a foul ball that flew into stands. Thanks to this, he had to miss the first six games of the season. Matt Carpenter filled in on third base in the meantime. As part of Freese's rehab assignment, he was sent to the Triple-A Memphis, the minor league baseball affiliate of the Cardinals, for three games. Find out what Freese told The Associated Press about returning to the Cardinals for the home opener below:

David Freese Returns to the St. Louis Cardinals After Suffering a Bruised Tailbone

For the past month, Florida has been home to baseball's greatest as part of Spring Training. As any baseball fan knows, this is the time of the year when the teams play each other in preparation for the upcoming season. Of course this is essential so that the players can work out any kinks they may have before the games start counting in their race for the World Series Championship. While we here at Pop City Life are based in the Tri-State area, our favorite team has always been the St. Louis Cardinals.

When we first heard that David Freese bruised his tailbone last week while chasing a foul ball into the stands, we automatically panicked. It was only two short years ago that the third baseman took home the title of World Series MVP. The team can't afford to have him on the injured list when the new season hasn't even started yet. Thankfully, we didn't have to worry for long because Freese returned to Spring Training today in the Cardinals game vs. the New York Mets. And damn did he return. Freese played the first five innings of the game and even scored a homer during the fourth inning. This was his second homer of the spring. That's our boy for you. The Cardinals went on the win the Mets 3-2.

Check out what Freese had to say about the status of his back below:

David Freese on the Tonight Show

After winning the World Series MVP, Cardinals third baseman Freese has been nonstop hitting the press circuits. Last night he appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. We're huge Cardinals fan and we're loving the much deserved attention St. Louis native Freese is getting.  Watch Freese's interview with Leno below (oh and hey Bieber):

Cardinals Win Game 6 of the World Series

Rather you're a Cardinals, Rangers, or just a baseball fan in general, there's no denying that last night's game 6 of the World Series was one of the best ever played. The last couple of innings had us on the edge of our seats! It literally was anyone's game. Just when you thought the Rangers had the win, the Cardinals kept tying up the score, eventually winning the whole thing in extra innings. Now it all comes down to tonight's game! Who will be the World Series champions? For now though, you can relive David Freese's game winning walk-off homerun below:

Demi Lovato- National Anthem- World Series

Tonight Demi Lovato sang the National Anthem at game 5 of the World Series. Lovato not only sounded flawless as she belted out the number, but looked incredible as well. There's no doubt this girl can sing. And look at her repping her team with a Rangers shirt on. Watch the video below to check out Lovato's performance:

Demi Lovato to Sing The National Anthem At Game 5 of The World Series

This morning Demi Lovato announced on her Twitter that she will be singing the National Anthem at Game 5 of the World Series. It's her homestate Texas Rangers vs. the St. Louis Cardinals (YAY!!) vying for the championship. This is exciting! We love Demi!

Scotty McCreery- National Anthem- World Series

Last night kicked off the World Series between the Cardinals and Rangers in St. Louis (Go Cardinals!!!). Since baseball is such an American pastime, what better way to start things off than to have Idol winner Scotty McCreery sing the National Anthem?! However, this didn't come without a technical glitch. Scotty's mic wouldn't work! Oh no! Of course he handled it like a pro though, starting "The Star-Spangled Banner" from the beginning.  Watch it all  below:
