American Idol Season 12 Tour Dates
It wouldn't be summer without American Idol's annual tour. This year instead of the top ten contestants heading out on the road, there will be eleven finalists. As you may recall last month, Aubrey Cleland won the sing-off against Charlie Askew, allowing her to join the tour. This was better known as the AT&T "Idol" Tour fan save. The 40- city AMERICAN IDOL LIVE! 2013 Tour starts out in St. Louis on June 29th and wraps up in Nashville on August 31st. One dollar from every ticket purchased will be donated to The Melanoma Research Alliance. Are you attending a show? Check out the full list of tour dates below:
Colton Dixon - Never Gone - Chicago
What's better than YouTube videos? YouTube videos from the front row, of course. That's just what we got with Colton Dixon's "Never Gone" from Chicago last night. "Never Gone" is an original song that will be off Dixon's debut album coming out later this year. If this song is any indication of what the rest of the album will bring, then we're very excited. This song is great! Watch Dixon's performance below of "Never Gone" from Chicago last night:
Phillip Phillips - Nice and Slow - Chicago
It should really be a requirement that Phillip Phillips sing an Usher song at every concert of his from hereon out. He had this incredible way of changing Usher's music to make it his own, all while delivering a hot performance that's impossible to forget. On American Idol, we saw him kill "U Got It Bad" and this year on the summer tour, we'll continue to hear him blow us all away with "Nice and Slow". Everything about this performance screams sexy. Oh Phillip Phillips, we adore you. Watch this video below of Phillips singing Usher's "Nice and Slow" yesterday in Chicago:
American Idol Top 10 Finalists - Raise Your Glass and Glad You Came - Detroit
A highlight of the American Idol Live! tour has always been the group numbers. In the past, this has included Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and Rihanna's "Please Don't Stop the Music". This year, the finalists end the show once again with more songs we all know and love. The ladies' start off the encore by singing Pink's "Raise Your Glass", which transitions into the guys' jamming out to The Wanted's "Glad You Came". During the end of "Glad You Came", the ladies join the guys back on stage to finish up the megahit. Watch the video below of the top ten closing out their Detroit show:
Hollie Cavanagh - Give Your Heart a Break - Detroit
One of our favorite songs on the radio right now is definitely Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart a Break". It's such a fun, sing at the top of your lungs kind of song. Imagine our surprise when we found out Hollie Cavanagh was going to be singing this same song on the American Idol LIVE! tour this summer. We basically couldn't contain our excitement. Check out this video below of Hollie belting the number at the Detroit show:
American Idol LIVE! Tour 2012 Set List
It's that time of the year again! Ever since season one of American Idol began back in 2002, the top ten finalists have hit the road for a tour. This is a great chance for the Idols to see and meet the fans who got them to where they are now. Plus, it's always been one of our most eagerly- anticipated concerts each summer. Today's stop is Detroit, Michigan. Check out the complete set list for this year's American Idol LIVE! Tour below:
Phillip Phillips - E! News Interview
It's hard to believe we're only a week away from the American Idol tour. While there were some scares that Phillip Phillips wouldn't be able to perform at every tour stop because of his recent kidney surgery, he assured us in his E! News interview last night that this won't be the case. The Georgia native talks openly about the chronic pain he was in during his run on the eleventh season of American Idol and the surgery he underwent after his win to correct the problem. You can watch Phillip Phillips' full interview with E! News below:
Phillip Phillips' Surgery Postponed
As we all know by now, American Idol winner Phillip Phillips suffers from chronic kidney problems. During his time on Idol, he had to undergo eight operations to help correct this problem. His ninth procedure was scheduled for yesterday. However, after coming down with a high fever thanks to a sinus infection, his surgery has been postponed until early next week. Many fans are starting to fear that Phillips will have to miss some of the Idol tour dates to recover from this surgery. In the past, Phillips stated that even with the operation he plans on performing at all of the tour dates this summer. The tour begins July 6 in Detroit. Aww, this guy cannot catch a break. Get well soon Phillip!

Phillip Phillips May Miss Beginning of American Idol Live Tour
Oh no! We hate reading about the pain Phillip Phillips has been in during his run on American Idol. According to TMZ, his problems may have gotten worse as his doctor has urged him to undergo surgery as soon as the show is over. The recovery time would have his missing tour rehearsals and possibly some shows. I can see him missing some rehearsals but hopefully he's feeling better by the time the tour kicks off this Summer.
American Idol Live! Tour Promo Video
Tomorrow tickets for American Idol LIVE! tour go on sale. This is always one of my favorite things about the summer. Ever since season 2, I've made it a tradition to attend this concert with my friends. In fact, it's always some of my best memories. What can I say? We're all self admitted Idol junkies. I have a feeling this year will be no different though. Phillip Phillips live? Yes please. Check out the promo video for the tour below:
