Review: A Rose to Ashes - Five Hundredth Year

Fans of metal music, we've got a new band to introduce you to. Five Hundredth Year is a group based out of Michigan that has been compared in the past to the likes of Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin. What sets them apart, though, from the rest is that they bring in the addition of female vocals as well as synth-work and keyboards to their music.

Throughout the two years that Five Hundredth Year has been together, the band has already opened for top names like GWAR and Mushroomhead. They have also played a whole slew of festivals such as the Chill on the Hill 2015, Carnival of Chaos 2015 and Dirtfest 2015. With all this experience playing for a live crowd, it should come as no surprise that  Five Hundredth Year are great entertainers.

Currently, the band is promoting their new 7-track EP titled "A Rose to Ashes". This piece of music features everything from emotive vocals to crushing riffs. With each listen, you won't be able to get enough. Their songs are powerful too. Of course there is singing, but there's also plenty of growled out shouts that you've come to know and love from heavy metal music. Five Hundredth Year really delivers hard rock for the 21st century.
