American Idol Announces New Judges

Written by Stephanie Coffey

Hold on a second. Is this American Idol news that we actually like? For months, there has been speculation over who the new judges would be. First there was talk that it would be an all-alum panel featuring the likes of Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson. Then there was buzz that stars like will.i.am. and Miley Cyrus would be joining the Fox series. Now we have confirmation that the three judges will be Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and....HARRY CONNICK JR. We're thrilled with this piece of news. Connick Jr. can sing, has wide appeal, AND will actually tell the contestants when they suck. It feels like forever since a judge gave the wannabes constructive criticism. As far as Urban and Lopez go? Eh. Better people could have definitely been chosen but we don't hate these two. Are you happy with the new judges? Sound off.

Highway Don't Care - Tim McGraw ft. Taylor Swift and Keith Urban

We may not be the biggest country music fans, but we cannot get "Highway Don't Care" out of our heads. This catchy Tim McGraw number, which features Taylor Swift and Keith Urban, is one of the most relatable songs we've heard in a long time. It's all about those times when you're fighting with a loved one and you drive away in a fit of anger. You turn on the radio to drown out your cries and forget about everything you're feeling. If this song doesn't ring a bell, you may recall the country superstars singing the numbers at the Country Music Awards last month. This morning, they finally released the music video for "Highway Don't Care". Check it out below:

American Idol Officially Confirms New Judges

Well, it's official. Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson are your new judges for season 12 of American Idol. Looks like Nick Jonas didn't make the cut and Randy is sticking around. It looks like they're trying to grab some of the country audience with Keith and are hoping for ratings with Nicki's antics. Will it work? Or is it time to report engine failure? While the show may not be as interesting, I still like the judges on The X Factor more.

What do you think of the new judges? Will you be tuning in for the new season?
