This episode is the episode where things certainly pick up in pace. It starts off with Spencer trying to get her sister's ring back from the pawn shop. The pawn shop guy hands her a horseshoe instead, for some bizarre reason, and claims that's what she originally gave him. He's being a total Ahole, is he even allowed to do that? So Spencer leaves with the horseshoe (why did she take it?) and catches up with the girls who are waiting for her in the ghetto of Rosewood apparently. A texts them that diamonds look great on her. Why does no one notice a creeper with leather gloves and a hoody walking around?
Aria's storyline is kind of boring this week. Zero Fitz in this episode. But a lot more focus on her brother Mike who most of you probably forgot existed. Aria's mom is taking over Ezra's English class full time blah blah blah. No one cares. She asks Aria to find Mike at his daily basketball game to give him his lost keys. The thing is, he's not there. And he hasn't been for quite some time. He's been lying about wherever it is he's going and whatever it is he's doing. Ugh. Now those who know me know that I've had Mike on my radar since the first episode. He's been my dark horse theory and suspicion since day 1. Now that he's actually getting some suspicious focus put on him it makes me think he is now nothing more than a red herring. And I couldn't be more annoyed.
Hanna this week is ignoring her therapist and trying to ignore Caleb. When Lucas begs the two of them to accompany him on a double date with the new girl he likes, she begrudgingly agrees. It's time for Hanna to get her one on one time with the therapist. She spends her session "talking" to Alison and telling her all the things she wish she could hear. Alison is still a bitch to her even when she's an hallucination. I find that fascinating. Seriously. WHY was anyone friends with her? Now here's where things get really weird. After Hanna leaves, the therapist's office is broken into and vandalized and an A message is left on the wall. "Nosey bitches die." Wtf? Is that directed at Hanna? Or the therapist for asking too many questions? And here's the kicker. There is no sign of forced entry. Was A in there the whole time? Where did they hide? It seems more likely that A hit up a Radioshack and installed some security cameras. Freak.
Okay. Time for the juice. Spencer goes to see Mr. Gorgeous and Sexy accent. AKA Wren. He tells her that he's been giving Melissa drugs that "Ian" has been demanding from her. Once she brings them to him, he'll tell Melissa where he's been hiding. I must be honest. I had to rewind that scene because all I could focus on was Julian's voice. Mmmmhm. Spencer does some more snooping and finds a suitcase full of Ian's clothes (?) and his passport inside. What's the purpose? I can already sense it's nothing good for Ian or Ryan Merriman's employment.
Spencer convinces Wren to set a trap with Melissa that ensures he must tag along on her trek to find Ian so Spencer and the girls can follow. Melissa goes inside alone and before you know it she begins to scream. I already know what's inside before we can see it. They find Ian's body. It wasn't just dumped there from the bell tower though. He has a gun in his hand, a bullet hole in his head and the worst suicide note in history. "I killed Alison. I lost my temper. I can't run from the law, come find me." What the hell? Come find you? You're dead! Ugh. And does this mean Ian really has been alive the whole time and then A shot him and made it look like a suicide? Or was he dead all along and A just gave him a hole in his head. Because come on now Rosewood police. Get your sh*t together and perform an autopsy properly!
A is then shown creeping up to (Spencer's?) car, who OF COURSE left the windows wide open and left her purse inside. A puts a cell phone (Ian's?) inside. Uhoh. Is Spencer about to be framed again? The camera then zooms in on a missing horseshoe from where Ian was killed. Uhoh. Spencer has that horseshoe. Girl you best get yourself a good lawyer.
