Jessica Sanchez and Deandre Brackensick Confirm That They're Dating

Jessica Sanchez might not have come away with the title of American Idol on season 11, but she did find love on the reality show. On an Internet live stream last week, Sanchez confirmed that she is indeed dating fellow contestant Deandre Brackensick. Brackensick took to Twitter to announce the news as well, tweeting “Yes Jessica is my girlfriend." They make such a cute couple! You can catch the duo all summer on the American Idol tour.

Phillip Phillips Makes Idol History

American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is making history with his debut single "Home". Not only has it sold the most copies of any coronation song in Idol's 11 seasons, but with 278,000 copies sold, Phillips now holds the spot for the second-best digital-sales week ever for a contestant. He falls right behind Kelly Clarkson who sold  280,000 downloads in January 2009 with her hit single "My Life Would Suck Without You". That's really impressive on its own, but then when you think of how many times Clarkson's song was played on the radio, it seems even more impressive now. Phillips currently holds the number 2 spot on this week's Digital Songs chart, right after Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe". "Home" has also put the Idol winner at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The last time this happened was back in season 7 when David Cook won with the song "Time Of My Life". We have a feeling this is only the beginning of Phillips' success. Congratulations!

Phillip Phillips Wins American Idol

Last night, 21-year-old Phillip Phillips came out victorious over Jessica Sanchez on American Idol season 11. Throughout the season, he's been a favorite, pumping out one great performance after the other. With his sweet, southern charm he captured hearts all over America. Watch the video below to see Phillip win the competition and sing his coronation song "Home". I don't know about everyone else, but there's something sexy about a guy who's not afraid to show his emotions. Seeing him breakdown during "Home" was adorable. I'm so happy that he pulled out the win this season!

Fox All Access' Interview With Phillip Phillips

Last night,  a new American Idol was crowned. Georgia native Phillip Phillips took home the title and we could not be any happier. He has been our favorite ever since his audition aired back in January. Actually, it feels pretty surreal to have our favorite win. The only time this has ever happened was back in season eight with Kris Allen. Phillip has continued to impress us week after week. Even though he's so talented, he still stays so humble. Phillip without a doubt deserved every bit of this win. After the finale, Phillip was thrown right into press. Watch his interview below with Fox All Access backstage at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles:

Phillip Phillips May Miss Beginning of American Idol Live Tour

Oh no! We hate reading about the pain Phillip Phillips has been in during his run on American Idol. According to TMZ, his problems may have gotten worse as his doctor has urged him to undergo surgery as soon as the show is over. The recovery time would have his missing tour rehearsals and possibly some shows. I can see him missing some rehearsals but hopefully he's feeling better by the time the tour kicks off this Summer.

American Idol Results- 5/17/12

...and then there were two! Tonight we said goodbye to one more contestant, bringing us to our final two fighting it out for the title of American Idol. These are three of the strongest contestants the show has ever seen in its eleven seasons. Each is so different from the other and all so incredibly talented. So who went home tonight? Who made it into the finale? Find out below:

Phillip Phillips- We've Got Tonight

Every now and then on American Idol you come across a performance that stands out far above anything else performed throughout the season. Last night, Phillip Phillips had one of those moments with Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight". It was so vulnerable and moving, completely blowing us away. Phil has this ability to bring such an incredible soul and feeling to everything he sings. He brings the lyrics to life, while coming across so genuine. Sure, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet have these amazing, over-the-top, powering voices, but sometimes simpler is better. That's what Phillip proved last night when he laid his heart bare to everyone to sing this beautiful number. Watch P2 sing "We've Got Tonight" below:

Phillip Phillips Performs Volcano At His Hometown Concert

Yesterday Phillip Phillips performed a concert in his hometown of Leesburg, GA as part of his American Idol visit. Just from looking at pictures of this event, he got a great turnout. One of the songs he sang was Damien Rice's "Volcano" which landed him rave reviews when he sang it on the show. We love Phil's version of this song. Even without the dark lighting and female singer, Phil was still able to bring that same great haunting feeling to "Volcano". Great job P2! Watch it below:

Phillip Phillips Meets Fans At The Airport

Yesterday, Phillip Phillips got the news that he had made it into the final three on American Idol. All Idol fans know this means one thing: hometown visits! In case you're unfamiliar with this, basically the contestants return home and are treated as royalty, right down to a huge parade in their honor. Today Phil arrived in his hometown of Leesburg, Georgia. Watch the video below of Phillip being welcomed home by his legions of fans at the airport:

American Idol Results- 5/10/12

Tonight we said goodbye to one more American Idol contestant, bringing us down to our final three. This week, the stakes were raised even higher. Whoever makes the top three receives that coveted hometown visit. I don't care who the contestant is, rather I love them or hate them, these visits always bring tears to my eyes and are probably my favorite part of Idol each season. Read below to find out which contestant was sent home tonight:

Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet - This Love

Last night's American Idol had some amazing performances. Between Phillip Phillips' version of Damien Rice's "Volcano", Joshua Ledet's cover of "It's A Man's World", and Jessica Sanchez belting out "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going", there was so much to love. However, our highlight of the night had to be Phil and Josh's duet of Maroon 5's "This Love". Oh these guys. They argue like an old married couple. When Phil stated he was Usher and Josh was Adam Levine? Priceless. Besides their adorable on screen antics, they sounded SO good together. Jennifer Lopez was right, on paper their voices don't seem like they would fit so well together, but for some reason they just blend perfectly. Watch Phil and Josh take on "This Love" below:

American Idol Live! Tour Promo Video

Tomorrow tickets for American Idol LIVE! tour go on sale. This is always one of my favorite things about the summer. Ever since season 2, I've made it a tradition to attend this concert with my friends. In fact, it's always some of my best memories. What can I say? We're all self admitted Idol junkies. I have a feeling this year will be no different though. Phillip Phillips live? Yes please. Check out the promo video for the tour below:

American Idol Top 4 Song Spoilers

On tonight's episode of American Idol, the final four contestants are taking on, in my opinion, two pretty ambiguous themes. First up we have "California Dreamin", which will focus on songs from California artists. After that, the theme is "songs you wish you wrote". Is it me or are these themes getting less and less specific each week? "Songs You Wish You Wrote", really? That can pretty much be anything, so here's to hoping the Idols pick the best song to showcase their voices. There's no excuse not to. Check out tonight's set list below:

American Idol Results- 5/3/12

After last night's British pop and 60's themes, we had to say goodbye to another contestant on American Idol. How are we down to four contestants already? How is the finale three weeks away? Time has flown by. Well, tonight's elimination came as a bit of a shocker. Read below to find out the bottom two and who was sent packing.

American Idol - Top 5 - Song Spoilers

American Idol Season 11's Top 5 will be tackling songs from the 60's tonight. And not only that, they each get a second song from a genre of British Pop. The song spoilers are out and it looks like we've got quite a selection. Contestants will also be performing in a duet and a trio. Hmm. Out of all of these songs, who would you like to see sing them?

Sound Off: American Idol 2012 Tour Song Suggestions

With American Idol summer tour dates being released last week, it got us to thinking what our ideal set list would be. The contestants this season have consistently put out amazing performances, but some just seem to stand out a little more than others. What would we personally love to hear sung on tour?

American Idol 2012 Summer Tour Dates

It's that time of the year again. Dates for the annual American Idol summer tour are out. Beginning on July 6 in Detroit, you can catch the Idol contestants on their 45 city tour. The tour runs through September, wrapping up in Milwaukee on the 11th. We've been going to the American Idol tour every year since season two and it never disappoints. Rather you're just going for one contestant or to root on them all, it's always a good time. Who are you looking forward to seeing take the stage? We can't wait to cheer on our favorites Phil, Colton, Hollie and Erika when they come to New Jersey. Check out the full list of tour dates below to know when they're coming to a city near you:

Hollie Cavanagh - The Climb

Last night, Hollie Cavanagh blew the judges away when she sang Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" on American Idol. With the theme being contestant's choice, Hollie most definitely chose the right song. This showcased her vocals perfectly, earning her a standing ovation. She has always been a powerhouse singer and we're glad that she's finally getting the recognition she deserves. We're rooting for you Hollie! Watch her performance of "The Climb" below:

Phillip Phillips - U Got It Bad - Performance Video

We just had to post this one! Last night, American Idol contestants performed two songs during a Now and Then themed Top 7. Our favorite performance of the night is definitely Phillip Phillips re-imagining himself some Usher. He took on U Got It Bad and Jennifer Lopez was right. It wasn't just fantastic. It was sexy!

Watch it here:

American Idol Season 11 - Top 7 Theme

This week on American Idol will have something for everyone. Contestants will be performing two songs each. The theme will be "Now and Then" with a newer song and an older song.
Via TVLine:

TVLine has learned exclusively that Wednesday night’s theme will be “Now & Then” — with each contestant tackling two songs: A Billboard No. 1 hit from 2000 to 2012, and a “soul” song from a previous decade.
What would you like to hear the contestant's sing? We're rooting for a major comeback from Phillip!
