Phillip Phillips Makes Idol History

American Idol winner Phillip Phillips is making history with his debut single "Home". Not only has it sold the most copies of any coronation song in Idol's 11 seasons, but with 278,000 copies sold, Phillips now holds the spot for the second-best digital-sales week ever for a contestant. He falls right behind Kelly Clarkson who sold  280,000 downloads in January 2009 with her hit single "My Life Would Suck Without You". That's really impressive on its own, but then when you think of how many times Clarkson's song was played on the radio, it seems even more impressive now. Phillips currently holds the number 2 spot on this week's Digital Songs chart, right after Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe". "Home" has also put the Idol winner at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The last time this happened was back in season 7 when David Cook won with the song "Time Of My Life". We have a feeling this is only the beginning of Phillips' success. Congratulations!
