The competition between Ivy and Karen continues. This time, it's over a goofy orange juice commercial. When Karen wins the part, it only triggers the continued downward spiral of Ivy. For someone who loves Marilyn this much, you think she would have seen it coming.
Ivy begins turning to pills and alcohol more often and even shows up high and/or drunk to the stage of Heaven on Earth. She can barely make it through the show and ends up falling flat on her face on stage. She runs outside where Karen catches up with her. She just wanted to return your sunglasses! They exchange bitter insults to one another and then Karen follows an obviously intoxicated Ivy to the liquor store..where she gives her 20 more bucks for alcohol. Then they get drunk and end up singing together in times square. While the performance was cute, what a terrible way to help someone's problem with alcohol.
Speaking of things that are gross and annoying, can someone just fling Ellis off the Brooklyn Bridge already? I can't stand him! What an annoying little sh*t he is. Ellis knows the team is looking for a star for their revamped musical. He wants to be the one to bring her to them so he can get all the glory and get ahead in this business. In order to do so, he has turned to having sex with powerful men in the business to get his way. Feeling confident in his success, he tells Eileen that he has a star lined up and he wants a co-producing credit. She verbally shuts him down but it's not enough. Push him overboard.
In other messy news, Frank finds out about Julia and Michael. He's pissed. Julia cries. I don't feel sorry for her. Frank gets even more pissed when he punches the crap out of Michael and learns that the affair has happened before. Julia's family falls apart and Frank packs his things and leaves.
What do you think of the new title Bombshell for the show? I prefer Marilyn I think.
