Pretty Little Liars - 3x10 - What Lies Beneath - Recap
This episode was at least, a little better than last week's. There was a bit of a reveal and three people were revealed to be innocent in Maya's murder. The biggest question you need to ask yourselves is this: Who would enjoy watching Wheel of Fortune? Hmm.
Recap of Pretty Little Liars: What Lies Beneath:
Ashley finds a note left by Maya underneath a plant. It took me like five minutes to realize why a note would be under a plant. I completely forgot that Emily was staying there. All she does is date people and serve coffee nowadays. In the note, she says her phone was stolen and she wants Emily to meet her somewhere. She had something to show her. What did she know? If that note was left the day her body was found, was it someone else texting Emily?
Let's get the boring unnecessary storylines out of the way. They always exist. No creepy pastor this time but we do get a lot of Ella's hot new man. I'm not really complaining because, like I said, he's hot. Almost too hot to stick around on the show and he has inappropriate chemistry with Aria. She should dump Fitz and get with him. He's being a wet noodle lately not even being able to finish watching old movies on his bed in his underwear. Oh yeah and he found Maggie. Does she have a toddler running around named Ezra junior?
Hanna continues to go through Maya's pictures and sees that Maya was at Noel's cabin overnight. They go to investigate and discover that she was staying in a back room and never actually left Rosewood. Girl was shady. Why exactly was she carrying an old card that Emily gave Alison? Creepy. Also creepy? Someone locks Hanna and Emily inside. In an act of desperation or stupidity, Hanna hurls a knife at a wooden window and ends up stabbing herself in the thigh. I can't. Lucky for her, Emily is a swimmer and busts them out with a baseball bat. "I'm saving you for later."-A
Not wanting to go to a hospital, they call Wren to stitch her up on the kitchen counter. Nice and sanitary. He's so gorgeous I can't even concentrate on the scene and how easy it would be for him to get his hands on Hanna's blood. Just sayin.
Spencer is back in Nancy Drew mode this week. There wasn't enough of her. She confronts Noel about being a liar and he creepily tells her it's hot she thinks he's capable of murder. Um, ew? She then breaks into his locker to steal his phone but I'm not sure what she accomplished because she puts it back 5 minutes later. Knowing she was in there, Noel emails her security footage from his cabin the night Maya was taken.
I can't understand why he would voluntarily incriminate himself by sending Spencer a video of Maya at his cabin until I see the rest. Noel and Jenna walk in to do..things..I assume, and Maya walks out to see what's going on. From the corner of the camera, just out of sight of course, someone grabs Maya and takes her away. This means Jenna, Noel, and Garrett are all innocent of killing Maya. Paige is that you? Girl you have a temper.
For some unknown reason, Emily and Nate make out on a porch while he cries over Maya and Paige sees. She gets in a fit of rage and throws some perfectly good Chinese food in the trash. What a waste.
My favorite moments of the night are when Aria tells Zach she will "crush his scones" if he hurts Ella and A turning on Wheel of Fortune at the end. Ezra would watch that..he's so boring. Then again, Byron and Ella and even Aria are English nerds. The plot thickens.
