Remember when Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez were innocent Disney stars? After next Friday, that will be a thing of the past. Their new film Spring Breakers, which also stars Pretty Little Liars actress Ashley Benson, Academy Award nominee James Franco and newcomer Rachel Korine, focuses on four college students who rob a fast food restaurant to pay for their spring break trip to Florida. Shockingly, that's not the worst of it. After arriving in paradise, the girls get busted for drug charges while out partying. When a hustling gangster bails them out from jail, they end up getting involved in his world of serious crime. This movie sounds...interesting to say the least. We understand some of these girls want to break out from their squeaky clean images, but will this risk be worth the reward? The film will be released in New York and Los Angeles on the 22nd, and nationwide on the 29th. Check out the official trailer for Spring Breakers below:
I wonder how many kids will venture into the theater not knowing what to expect from the first R rated feature from Selena Gomez. IMDB says the movie is "Rated R for strong sexual content, language, nudity, drug use and violence throughout." From these girls?? That'll be interesting to see. Certainly a bold way to break out of their Disney shells. I wonder what sort of crimes they'll commit to fund their trip to Florida? If there's anything that infamous second season of Jersey Shore taught me, it's that a road trip to Miami results in interesting shenanigans. I'm sure they'll end up stealing a car and needing low rate title loans miami to make it legit.
