Mike Piazza Releases His Autobiography "Long Shot"

With baseball season in full swing, we're craving for everything and anything even remotely related to this great sport. That's why when we found out that New York Mets former catcher Mike Piazza released his autobiography earlier this year, we knew we had to begin reading it immediately. Long Shot, which Lonnie Wheeler collaborated with him on, covers everything from his draft selection to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1988 to holding the most career home runs for a catcher. Of course this autobiography doesn't just talk about his professional life, but a lot of personal stories as well. He speaks about growing up, his family and even the gay rumors that have always surrounded him. One topic we found especially interesting was Piazza's detailed description of the first game played in New York after the 9/11 attacks. While this is a must read for any baseball fan (no matter what your favorite team is), it's also great for any avid book reader.

This past week, New York experienced some of its finest weather in months. Thanks to this, there's no better time than now to sit down outside with a great book in hand. Whether it's one from American Writers And Artists like Stephenie Meyer, Jodi Picoult and Sara Shepard or a retired professional baseball player like Piazza, an amazing read is always a good time. That's exactly what Piazza's new autobiography Long Shot is. You can buy it here.
