Oh no! Is another star headed for rehab? Rumors are swirling that Tatum O'Neal is back in rehab after relapsing on cocaine last month. Find out below what reps for the actress had to say:
Yes, Tatum has voluntarily checked into rehab but not for the reason many were expecting. According to her reps,
"Tatum O'Neal has had back issues, had back surgery and went to a place that could supervise her use of prescribed pain killers until the pain had subsided," her rep tells us. "She will always seek supervision when taking prescription medication that has addictive potential."The 48-year-old Academy Award-winning actress has a long history with drug abuse. In her autobiography A Paper Life, she talks about how her father's physical and emotional abuse led to her drug dependency which included a heroin addiction. She stopped using drugs in the 1980s but returned to her ways after her divorce from tennis star John McEnroe in 1992. Most recently, in 2008 she was arrested for buying crack cocaine outside her New York City home. We're glad to hear O'Neal is now taking care of herself and using precaution to prevent what could be a deadly problem for the star.
