We are one episode away from finding out A's identity. There are so many suspicious people in tonight's episode that I have to assume that none of them are guilty. Which begs the question..who haven't we been suspicious of? Who is A? To quote Ali: This is some seriously messed up stuff.
The episode kicks off with Spencer having a painkiller induced vision of Alison visiting her. Alison tells her she's getting warmer and then takes a few of her pills for the road. I have two questions here. Why is the bottle of pills open and the door wide open when Spencer wakes up if it was a dream? And why does Spencer have so many painkillers from cutting her hand?
It's time for Jenna to take off the bandage! Can she see? Toby waits with her to hear the news. Jenna sheds a tear and tells him and the girls the surgery didn't work. Hmmm. Jenna sits with the girls at lunch and announces she wants to start over and move on. After Hanna saved her life, she doesn't want to hold grudges anymore. I mean, really, Alison threw the firecracker. I don't believe anything Jenna is selling.
Aria is still fighting with her parents over her choice to be with Ezra but things just got a lot worse. She discovers papers her parents filed to send her to boarding school in Vermont. Really? At her age? She would probably emancipate herself before she would go to Vermont. Aria grows some balls and calls them out on the crappy situation. She even threatens to turn Byron in for having an affair with a student. Why is it alright for Byron to cheat on his WIFE, lie to his FAMILY, and do all of this with a STUDENT..but Aria's worse? Hypocrisy: Party of one.
Spencer discovers that Alison and A were fighting in the classifieds. The last ad was for the two of them to have a showdown near the doll hospital. They go to investigate and man, is this place creepy. You couldn't pay me to go in there at night. And with a crazy killer after them? They're crazy. There is also a very sixth sense-esque boy in the doll hospital. He tells the girls he can see things before they happen and he had warned Alison something bad would happen to her. He says a man and a woman bought the voodoo doll used to scare her. Before he can say anything else, his granny shuts him up.
Things aren't looking good for Melissa. Hanna is more convinced than ever. Spencer has no choice but to tell them everything she knows about her sister and the revelation about Jason. The girls are really ballsy in this episode. Spencer confronts Melissa about the video they recovered from A's phone and Spencer even threatens to take it to the police when Melissa doesn't cooperate. Instead of reacting in the way I'd expect, Melissa turns around and threatens Spencer! What?? She says she's seen incriminating videos of the girls and wouldn't hesitate to show them to the cops either. Whoa. What videos?? How did she see them?
They decide it's time to get some proof on Melissa. They try to trick her into sending an A text message. Hanna asks Mona and Caleb to make out in a car in front of Melissa. Sure enough, they get a text right after. Because of how obvious this is, I have to assume that Melissa isn't A. They're doing a good job of making her look guilty at something. But right now, she's just guilty of being a nut and a bad sister.
How about some good news? Well, sort of. Good news if you're an Ezria fan. Ezra is fired from his job and now has a reputation. He will probably have to leave town to find work. Before he goes, the two of them finally sleep together. Aria and Fitz do it to a Chris Isaacs cover. It's all very Ross and Rachel.
Jenna tells Toby about a piece of paper Garrett told her to hide. It's page 5 of the autopsy. She claims not to know what it is but we know that she does. She asks Toby to bring it to the police. Girlfriend wants to frame Garrett! Did she plant his badge too? Is she A? The girls are upstairs packing up Alison's stuff to give to the police when Garrett and Melissa walk in KISSING. What?? They sure get around. Melissa assures him Spencer won't hand over the video. Why does Melissa suddenly care? The police show up and arrest Garrett for murdering Alison. Gasp!
Cut to Jenna putting on her makeup in the mirror and squashing a fly. A fly that she can see. Jenna can see! We then see a final clip of A paying off the doll hospital lady and the kid. Where does A get their money? Was the kid lying about what he saw? Who is A?
