The competition rages on! The ball may be in Karen's favor when Ivy shocks the room and starts to lose her voice. Derek, a man of little patience, immediately begins to consider her replacement. Can Karen handle it?
Ivy is sensitive to drugs and the steroids needed to repair her throat are a last resort. They come with a slew of side effects from hallucinations to growing hair. Derek, the understanding man that he is, convinces her to take them anyway by pointing out he won't hesitate to replace her with Karen. Karen gets noticed replacing Ivy at a Bar Mitzvah she was supposed to perform at. I gotta admit, she sounds pretty great here.Ivy sounds fantastic singing Jessie J in her bedroom though. It's just a shame the creepy hallucinations are starting.
Julia's son starts to act out and ice her after spying her making out with Michael. Unfortunately for him, that affair isn't stopping anytime soon. Julia has yet another rendezvous with Michael in the studio and I'm just kind of skeeved out about the whole thing. I feel like this is supposed to be romantic and lovely but it comes off rather creepy and sleazy instead. Michael begging to undress Julia and telling her "No one has to know" is such a cliche.
Ivy loses it when Derek humiliates and criticizes her yet again in front of the group. She takes a page out of his book and tells the room he's not that great in bed before storming out. You go girl!
