If you’re like me, then you know that when it comes to most reality TV shows, you can do without them. But if you’re also like me and somehow got roped in by The Hills, which ended back in 2010 after six seasons, then you and I should talk. Again, if you’re anything like me, then you also agree that the ending to this epic reality TV series…uhh…kinda sucked!!
As I’m sure you probably remember, but let me just refresh everyone else, the show ended with Kristen leaving town and Brody being the last person that she says goodbye to (At that point we all knew that Kristen had admitted to liking Brody again, but Brody had just started seeing someone new- the world found out soon after the show’s departure that it was none other than Canadian punk rocker, Avril Lavigne).
ANYWHO, as Kristen pulls away, leaving a sad-stricken Brody to just stand there and watch, the camera zooms out to reveal the backdrop of the Hollywood sign and we see a crewmember push the backdrop away. The camera zooms further out and more crewmembers are standing there. Kristen’s car stops and she gets out and goes back to Brody. The ending outraged a lot of fans because it was made to look set up instead of just reality.
I guess now’s a good time as any because MTV and the show’s producers have heard the fans cries and debuted the alternative ending the show's producers came up with three years ago, three years later. In this ending, Kristen says goodbye to Brody and Brody goes back to his apartment and finds none other than original Hills star, Lauren “LC” Conrad sitting on his couch.
