Review: The Black Clouds
If you love Nirvana, Black Sabbath, and The Vines, you're going to want to check out The Black Clouds. This alternative rock/grunge band is comprised of guitarists/vocalists Dan Matthews and Rob Blake, bassist Gary Moses and drummer Cory King. The band, which is based out of New Jersey, has performed at events like The Bamboozle Festival and SXSW. Not only that, but they've also received numerous nominations for their work in the Asbury Music Awards.
Last year, they released their album Better Days. The CD features eleven songs, including "No Reason", "Whereabouts Unknown" and "I'll Be Gone". Better Days was even produced, recorded, and funded completely by the band itself. It's been four years since their debut EP, Wishing Well was released. Well let us say Better Days was well worth the wait. After listening to the album, it's clear that these guys are what's been lacking in the hard rock and metal scene. They mix emotive vocals with strong electronic guitar and bass sounds. The best way we can describe their music is raw and powerful.
Our favorite song off Better Days is "All or Nothing". We dare you to listen to this song without feeling the urge to head-bang. It's one of those numbers that captures your attention from the first note. The energy oozing from it is unreal. We can only imagine how good "All or Nothing" sounds live. Basically, it's every grunge fan's dream.
Make sure to check out The Black Clouds' official website, Twitter, and Facebook. Also, head over to iTunes to grab a copy of their music.
